Summer time is one of the best times to play sports. Many people like to go to the lake or the beach and out into the water to play. One of the best things to do in water is kneeboard. For those of you who do not know kneeboarding is almost like the wake board, but on their knees. You kneel on a board, through the water, while holding a rope that is attached to the boat. The goal is to stay up and try to make all sorts of tricks you can. I've been driving up the knee since I was probably 12 or 13 years and I have become pretty good at it too. My father's boat I'm known as the kneeboarding master. Every time someone new comes on board, they say, "We brought a new student today." That's what I do today is give you some tips on how to kneeboard.

 • The first thing you have to do is wear a life jacket. When it comes out on the water, safety always comes first. Make sure the life jacket that fits well and is tight so that it can not slip out of it. Also, be aware of the signals. The signals are: a little faster, a little slower, is hilly (which means they are great waves to come, be prepared) and stop (cut).

 • Second, is to grab the rope that is used to pull ahead and find a place on the boat to tie it. This is usually tie it to one of the hooks on the back of the boat, or one in the center if one. Paste the string through the center latch hook which then passes through the top and bottom of the hook.

 • Thirdly, jump in the water and Once you enter, nailed the plate under water so it gets wet. You want your card is wet the water making it easier to raise a. Once the board is wet you'll lie in it. Do not put your body on the board, make it so that half of his body is on the board and have your legs dangling. Hold the rope in such a so that the elbows are on the board, and whether to lift a weight and a lock.

 • Fourth, when the boat starts to move we are going to feel a attraction. When you start shooting, take the rope and pull it toward you and use your elbows to your knees slide into the pockets of the knee. Elbows are going to get up. Use your forearms and elbows and knees to slide in. If you are a little stronger than it can hold the rope with one hand and use your other hand to hold the board.

 • Fifth, once you are kneeling on the board the next thing to do is strap yourself in. In-Dash is a strap for your knees will not get when you're up, but slides out when you fall. Strap yourself in as hard as you need.

 • Sixth Instead, be sure to keep the holding in that string. The rope at points away from you and you will feel like it's going to fall. When this happens, take both hands and pull it toward you. Doing this will give you some slack.

 • Seventh, always remember to lean back. You do not want to lean back to because the balance and fall. But you also do not want to lean forward or you will do a nose dive. You want to rely solely a little back. When the waves come, make sure you really lean back.

Kneeboarding can be fun once you learn to stand up. Sometimes takes a few tries, but you will get it. Never give up. I always say, once you get up first, you will receive each time. Go out and have fun with it. Once you master turns up or try to make some tricks. It's a lot of fun when you have another person traveling with you, because then you can try and push each other, splashing each other and just laugh at him. Going out and trying to get the knee!

Alicia is a sport management major at Nichols College writing a “How To” paper on kneeboarding.
